Job Description

Store Manager

Store Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Closed Sundays.

Store managers are responsible for all aspects of store operations. Responsibilities include employee management, ensuring customer satisfaction, inventory control, and achieving sales targets. The store manager will also assist customers in the selection of paint and materials.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the efficiency of all daily operational procedures
  • Achieve sales targets and profit plan by controlling expenses, determining the proper amount of inventory, and growing net contribution
  • Working with the Sales Team as a contributor to overall regional sales targets
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and hiring of new staff
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing education for all employees
  • Schedule and manage employee work hours, vacation requests, and store labor hours
  • Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service-oriented, and compliant with established company policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of company products and be able to educate staff about products
  • Assist customers over the phone and in the store with questions and orders regarding architectural, commercial, and industrial paint products and coating materials
  • Prepare orders by mixing/tinting paint to the customer's specifications
  • Accurately identify and match paint colors
  • Accurately process cash and credit card transactions while maintaining a cash drawer
  • Occasionally make deliveries to customers safely and efficiently using a company vehicle
  • Load and unload the delivery vehicle as needed
  • Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring that customers are satisfied with the products and services
  • Ensure that customer issues are quickly and efficiently resolved
  • Manage miscellaneous tasks around the store, such as stocking, cleaning, filing, organizing, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by Regional Management

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Previous Retail Management or management experience is a plus
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate positive teamwork skills and multitasking
  • Excellent customer service skills and reliability
  • Ability to coach, provide feedback, and resolve conflict.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and the store team.
  • Strong prioritizing, interpersonal, problem solving & planning skills.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills and cash handling/cashiering skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently
  • Bilingual a plus but not required - (Spanish/English)
  • High school diploma or comparable certification (GED), some college preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which can include occasional Saturdays to meet business demands.
  • Commitment to ethical behavior and willingness to adhere to company policies

Candidates must be able to pass a background check and/or MVR check, as applicable to the role.

This job requires standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, walking, gripping, reaching overhead, lifting, climbing stairs, gripping, and carrying the product to and from delivery vehicles frequently.
