Job Description

As a Store Designer at NEXT, you’ll be at the heart of bringing our brand to life across all our store formats. Your mission is to ensure our approved design standards and concepts are implemented perfectly, creating retail environments that truly work for our customers.

You’ll be the bridge between creative vision and practical reality, working closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver functional, high-quality store layouts.

At NEXT, we’re committed to your growth; you’ll be supported to evolve your skills and technical expertise within our fast-paced Estates team.

What you'll take on

  • Lead the design process by creating detailed architectural drawings and visualisations using REVIT, from initial feasibility through to the final "as-built" stage.
  • Space plan and interpret concepts to achieve optimum store layouts that balance visual appeal with commercial efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure every design meets our visual requirements and remains commercially viable.
  • Coordinate with external experts on technical elements such as lighting, HVAC, and M&E to ensure a seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct regular site visits to understand the unique intricacies of each development and ensure our standards are maintained on the ground.
  • Produce high-quality presentation materials for projects and regional reviews to clearly communicate your design proposals.
  • Prioritise safety and practicality by ensuring all bespoke designs, fixtures, and finishes adhere to the latest Health & Safety guidelines.

What you'll bring

  • Technical expertise in REVIT, with the ability to produce drawings to a high architectural standard and accurately measure square footage.
  • A collaborative spirit, enjoying working with others and actively stimulating cooperation between peers and external partners.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan your own workload and meet deadlines even when priorities shift.
  • Clear communication, whether you’re listening to complex instructions, asking the right questions, or sharing timely updates with your team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, using your expertise to identify potential issues early and finding practical solutions.
  • Resilience and adaptability, staying calm under pressure and embracing change as our brand continues to evolve.
  • A commitment to growth, with an openness to feedback and a drive to keep learning and developing your professional skills.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence is preferred
