- The Store Cashier at GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF CENTRAL FLORIDA INC is responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing sales transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The role is essential in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers while supporting the company's mission to provide job training, employment placement services, and other community-based programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
- Operate cash registers and handle financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restocking supplies as necessary.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
- Provide information about store policies, promotions, and services.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety and security measures.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance job performance.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required

Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is preferred.
- Experience handling cash transactions and operating a cash register is an advantage.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail for accurate cash handling.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving merchandise.
- Dependability and punctuality are essential for maintaining store operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
