The Opportunity!

At Goodwill Industries of Central Florida, as a Store Cashier, you will be expected to provide excellent customer service while operating a cash register. Major duties include ringing up all sales transactions, operating a cash register, and greeting and assisting customers/donors.

A Day in the Life of a Store Cashier!

You will find yourself:

• Greeting each customer with a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude.

• Providing prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.

• Directing customers to the proper area and providing general information as requested.

• Ringing up all sales transactions into the cash register and complete sales.

• Ensuring that each customer receives the proper change and correct receipt for purchase.

• Following all policies and procedures concerning cash, check, charge card transactions, voids, gift cards, and change Round Up program.

• Keeping the register area clean and orderly at all times.

• Answering telephone calls promptly using an established etiquette procedure.

• Assisting sales floor employees with stocking and recovery.

Qualifications

Physical and Environmental Work Conditions:

• Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

• Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

• Standing and walking for long periods.

• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

Education and/or Experience:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• High School education or equivalent is preferred. Previous retail and/or cashiering experience is highly preferred.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills and beginner knowledge of touch screen cash registers.
