Storage Engineer (80-100%)
We are looking for a Storage & Backup Engineer with a strong passion for enterprise infrastructure, data protection, and automation. You will join a dynamic team of 15 system engineering experts who manage a global infrastructure of more than 7,000 servers, multiple enterprise storage platforms, and mission-critical backup services supporting the Bank's operations worldwide. This is a large-scale technical environment where reliability, performance, resilience, and innovation are at the core of our mission.
You will play a key role in the design, operation, and evolution of our storage and backup ecosystem, including SAN fabrics, enterprise storage arrays, replication technologies, and data protection platforms. You will ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of critical infrastructure supporting business applications and services.
Your responsibilities will include the management and optimization of storage arrays, SAN switches and zoning configurations, Active-Active replication solutions, backup and recovery platforms, as well as performance monitoring and capacity planning across the storage landscape.
YOUR MISSION
Design, manage, and evolve enterprise Storage, SAN, and Backup infrastructures
Ensure the performance, availability, and resiliency of critical data storage and protection services
Contribute to infrastructure modernization projects, including replication, disaster recovery, and object storage technologies
Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention
Propose innovative solutions to optimize services, enhance reliability, and reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with security and governance standards
YOUR PROFILE
Higher education in computer science or communication systems
Minimum 2 years of experience in the field
Strong knowledge of enterprise Storage and Backup technologies
Proven experience managing storage arrays and SAN infrastructures
Strong understanding of storage performance analysis, troubleshooting, and capacity planning
Experience with Active-Active replication technologies and disaster recovery solutions
Good knowledge of SAN switching, Fibre Channel protocols, and zoning concepts
Good knowledge of S3-compatible object storage technologies
Experience with automation using Ansible, Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies
Experience with one or more of the following products: Hitachi, NetApp, Pure Storage, Brocade, Commvault
Knowledge of virtualization technologies, especially VMware, is considered an asset
Familiarity with Microsoft infrastructure technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, System Center) is a plus
Understanding of authentication and security technologies such as Kerberos, PKI, or ADFS is advantageous
Structured, analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
Fluent in both French and English (spoken and written)
Residence in Switzerland or willingness to relocate
