STORAGE ARCHITECT

– STORAGE ARCHITECT
PURPOSE
Acts as subject matter expert and ultimate decision authority in enterprise storage architecture by defining, governing, and evolving technologies, standards, and strategies that ensure availability, performance, security, and long‑term sustainability of Tenaris’ centralized storage platforms across IT and Industrial environments.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures she/he is up to date with all certifications, best practices, new technologies, and regulations, with particular focus on enterprise storage architectures, ransomware protection strategies, data lifecycle management, and hybrid IT/OT environments.
Provides specialized assistance and decision leadership in storage architecture, including vendor strategy, technology selection, and definition of global standards across platforms supporting SAP, Industrial systems, and shared infrastructure services.
Defines and maintains the enterprise storage architecture, including data protection models (replication, immutability, snapshots), performance frameworks, and scalability models to support multi‑petabyte environments and high‑performance workloads.
Owns lifecycle management of storage technologies, including evaluation, selection, and decommissioning of platforms (e.g. Pure Storage, Dell/EMC, HPE, IBM), ensuring alignment with long‑term cost, supportability, and risk considerations.
Leads vendor benchmarking, technical negotiations, and strategic partnerships to ensure optimal balance between performance, cost, and resilience.
Documents architecture decisions, standards, and technical guidelines in order to share knowledge, ensure consistency, and support the development of other specialists in the organization.
Supports change, configuration, integration, and performance management of storage platforms and related infrastructure, ensuring alignment with defined architectural principles.
Defines and governs security posture of storage platforms, including ransomware protection mechanisms, immutable architectures, and recovery strategies aligned with business continuity objectives.
Assures the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise storage systems supporting corporate and industrial platforms, ensuring that failures or degradations do not impact production, quality, or global operations.
Participates from early stages in all projects leveraging storage technologies, defining architecture, validating design decisions, and ensuring consistency with enterprise standards.
Acts as an accountable for high‑impact, irreversible technology decisions related to storage, ensuring architectural coherence and minimizing enterprise risk.
Evaluates and arbitrates performance versus cost trade‑offs affecting critical systems such as SAP, production platforms, and global shared services.
Supports disaster recovery strategy by defining storage-related recovery capabilities across multiple datacenters and ensuring alignment with recovery time and recovery point objectives.
Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to his/her area.
