Job Description

You'll play a key role in coordinating large-scale stocktakes across Sydney Trains’ Engineering & Maintenance and Rollingstock teams, using data and planning, ensuring inventory integrity and availability to support critical rail services.

You enjoy solving problems, improving processes and working across teams to deliver reliable, data-driven outcomes.



In this role, you'll:

  • Own and coordinate the end-to-end stocktake program across a complex, multi-site network, planning and delivering cyclic, continuous, and annual stocktakes across warehouses, depots, vendors and off-site locations while overseeing inventory handling and storage practices and providing data-driven analysis and reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • You will review stocktake outcomes, investigate discrepancies and contribute to improving the way stock is managed to help teams make better decisions and strengthen inventory processes across a large and complex environment.
  • Ensure stocktake execution aligns with governance, audit, and compliance requirements

About you

  • You have qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or a related field and/or bring equivalent experience from a large, operational environment.
  • You bring demonstrated experience in stocktaking and inventory control, including planning and executing continuous, cyclic and annual stocktakes aligned to operational objectives, along with working knowledge of SAP (or similar) Materials Management and Warehouse Management systems.
  • You have proven experience working with teams and stakeholders and are confident supporting delivery outcomes while using your analytical skills to improve inventory systems, processes and demand planning outcomes.
  • You hold a current NSW C Class Driver’s Licence.
  • You have intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, with strong Excel capabilities for stocktake reporting, data analysis, and inventory traceability, along with experience using Teams and Outlook.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity located at Clyde (Auburn). You’ll contribute to work that supports safe and reliable transport for the people of Sydney, while building your experience in a collaborative environment that values continuous improvement and supports flexible ways of working where possible.
