We’re looking for an STMS to join our Traffic team in Manawatu. You’ll support temporary traffic management across a range of worksites, helping keep our people, customers and road users safe while delivering Good Work every day.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

As an STMS, you’ll be part of the frontline team keeping worksites safe, organised and moving. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead and support the set-up, operation and pack-down of temporary traffic management across different sites, while working closely with the wider crew to get the job done right. We take the work seriously, not ourselves, and you’ll be trusted to bring a safe head, solid judgement and a team-first attitude every day.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate temporary traffic management across various worksites in line with current practices and approved plans.

  • Oversee the safe set-up, adjustment and pack-down of traffic management equipment and controls.

  • Communicate clearly with site crews and stakeholders to help keep work flowing safely and efficiently.

  • Identify, report and help control hazards in line with site risk controls and Fulton Hogan safety requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with TTM requirements and maintain the competencies needed to deliver safe, effective traffic management.

  • Pitch in with other duties reasonably requested as part of the wider team.

  • A current STMS qualification.

  • Experience working in traffic management or a similar civil construction environment.

  • A current Class 2 Full Driver Licence.

  • A strong focus on safety, wellbeing and doing the job right.

  • A reliable, team-focused approach and confidence working outdoors in changing conditions.

  • The ability to carry out the inherent requirements of the role and work around live traffic safely.

  • A willingness to learn, build your skills and back your team.
