We are seeking a proactive Site Traffic Management Supervisor to lead a dedicated traffic management team, supporting the delivery of cyclic and first response maintenance activities on the state highway network in the Manawatu-Whanganui region.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

In this role, you will play a key part in implementing and supervising temporary traffic management activities. Your main responsibilities will include establishing and removing traffic management sites in line with approved TTM Plans, providing leadership to your crew on site, and ensuring all required site and STMS documentation is completed accurately. You will also be responsible for maintaining exemplary health and safety standards to protect yourself, your team, and the public.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Participate in tailgates and planning meetings, assisting with scheduling, and deployment of resources required to deliver effective traffic management solutions

  • Take responsibility for the safe and efficient setup of temporary traffic management sites, including placing signs, cones, barriers, and other traffic control measures in accordance with approved plans

  • Respond to any incidents or changes in site conditions promptly, maintain clear communication with the crew and stakeholders, and keep accurate records of all TTM activities and site observations

  • Proven STMS experience with solid traffic management knowledge

  • Class 2 licence required

  • Current STMS Cat A/B/C qualification (NZTA compliant)

  • Confident performing STMS duties and guiding crews

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Good problem-solving and decision-making ability

  • Committed to safety and quality
