Employee Status: Rotational – 28 days on/14 days off

Schedule:
Getting you to and from the floatel is completely seamless and stress-free. Bridgemans pays for your flights (from major Canadian cities) and transportation to and from the project site, ensuring your travel is fully arranged and supported for every shift rotation.

Rotational schedule may vary by department but is typically 28 days on / 14 days off.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Sous Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform the cleaning and sanitization of role-specific areas in the culinary operation/galley, including dishwashing, pot washing, equipment cleaning, general cleaning/sanitizing of floors and work surfaces, laundering of galley rags.
  • Perform the cleaning and sanitization of public dining spaces, service counters, galley washrooms, galley, storage rooms, walk in coolers/freezers, service hallways
  • Segregation and collection of waste (food, recyclable, general) including transport to waste transfer points on the vessel, breaking down cardboard, cleaning and sanitizing refuse containers
  • Monitoring and consistent replenishment of dining area, grab & go, cafe supplies and consumables (utensils, plates, cups, trays, condiments, beverages, coffee, tea, milk, ice cream, etc.)
  • Monitoring and replenishment of cold buffet line menu items
  • Washing, sanitizing, stocking reusable containers for galley and guest use
  • Regular cleaning and sanitization of industrial galley equipment, as per manufacturers recommendations and specifications
  • Assist storekeeper and cooks with moving, unpackaging and location of provisions to dry, cool, frozen storerooms
  • Ensure all tasks are performed to Bridgemans' standards and specific procedures
  • Review and complete daily work checklists to ensure all role-specific duties have been completed within the allotted timeframe
  • Follow all schedules as laid out by the Supervisor
  • Ensure the safety of yourself and others by always wearing task-specific PPE
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, superiors, and clients, contributing to the general well-being of the vessel
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene, arriving at your shift on time and ready to work, following all personal grooming and appearance standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Preference given to those with kitchen experience in a high-volume production kitchen environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis of at least 30 days on board the vessel at a time
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment where the English language is spoken during work hours
  • Ability to test negative in a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screen, marine medical examination, physical demands assessment based on working conditions below
  • Within 6 months of commencement of employment, capable of passing required training to hold valid MED Domestic Vessel Safety Certificate, Crowd and Crisis Management certificate which employer will arrange upon successful completion of probationary period

  • Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting
  • Regular ascending or descending stairs, ramps & ladders
  • Tolerance of an environment where heat, steam, water are frequent
