Job Summary

Isla Bella Beach Resort is seeking a dependable and hardworking Steward to support our culinary and food & beverage operations.

This role plays a critical part in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen and food preparation areas. The Steward is responsible for dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, waste disposal, inventory organization, and supporting banquet and restaurant operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Sanitation & Dishwashing

• Clean, sanitize, and polish dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using commercial dishwashers and hand-washing methods
• Ensure all kitchen and service wares meet cleanliness and sanitation standards
• Organize and store clean kitchen equipment in designated areas

Kitchen Maintenance

• Sweep, mop, and deep-clean kitchen floors, walls, and workspaces
• Clean and sanitize food prep tables, heavy kitchen equipment, ovens, grills, and walk-in refrigerators
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and back-of-house areas

Waste & Inventory Management

• Empty, clean, and reline trash and recycling bins
• Keep loading dock, waste storage, and back-of-house areas clean and organized
• Assist with receiving, unloading, and organizing food and supply deliveries
• Restock silverware, china, glassware, and kitchen supplies as needed

Banquet & Culinary Support

• Assist with transporting, setting up, and breaking down banquet food stations, chafing dishes, and service equipment
• Support weddings, conferences, buffets, and special events
• Assist culinary teams with basic prep work and moving supplies or food items as needed

Safety & Compliance

• Handle cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with OSHA and MSDS guidelines
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Identify and report any maintenance or sanitation concerns to leadership

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous stewarding, dishwashing, kitchen, or hospitality experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in hot, humid, and physically demanding environments
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
