Job Description

Crowne Plaza North Augusta is seeking dependable and hardworking Temporary Stewards to support our team during Masters Week. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen and event operation in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work with a sense of urgency while supporting dishwashing, sanitation, and banquet operations. Open availability is required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended hours throughout Masters Week.

Requirements

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Operate industrial dishwashing machines and ensure proper handling of all kitchenware.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dish area, floors, trash receptacles, and other kitchen stations.
  • Remove trash and recycling, and properly dispose of food waste.
  • Restock clean dishes and supplies in designated areas for easy access by kitchen and service staff.
  • Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment and workstations as needed.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper chemical handling and sanitation procedures.
  • Keep the dishwasher clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
  • Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure a sanitary wash cycle.
  • Keep the dish room clean and organized.
  • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
  • Segregate and remove trash and garbage, and place all in designated containers and haul to the dumpster
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of a hand truck.
  • Perform basic food prep as needed.
  • Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
  • No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle repetitive tasks efficiently.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Hot, humid, and often noisy kitchen environment.
  • Long periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Use of cleaning chemicals and exposure to water and steam.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must know the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Ability to scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Attend required meetings.
