Pay Grade
Sterile Processing Technicians carry out the task of decontamination, inspection, assembly,
packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable medical devices. Ensures the
instrumentation is functional and removes defective devices from service. Maintains sufficient
inventory and par levels of supplies and instrumentation. An understanding of disinfection and
sterilization methodologies and processes is required. Provide excellent customer service exhibiting
interpersonal skills to user departments, vendors, and team members. This position requires
attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to efficiently prioritize demand. Participation in
environmental maintenance responsibilities is necessary to meet regulatory requirements. Sterile
Processing Technicians are responsible for following infection control recommendations and
standards as described through accreditation agencies. Technicians are expected to engage in other
task as needed to maintain functionality of the department.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification & Licensures
CRCST Certification required within 18 months or 2080 hours of hire date
Qualifications
Ability to self-direct and function efficiently under minimal supervision required
