The Sterile Processing Technician plays a critical role in supporting safe, efficient surgical care in a high-volume ambulatory surgery center. This position requires strong attention to detail, a team-first mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and trays according to AAMI standards, manufacturer IFUs, and facility policies
Accurately assemble case carts and instrument sets to support on-time starts and efficient room turnover
Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (steam, low-temperature, etc.), ensuring proper documentation and quality assurance
Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate instrument issues, missing items, or repairs proactively
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sterile processing environment
Collaborate closely with OR staff, leadership, and fellow technicians to meet daily case volume demands
Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, safety, and team performance
Adhere to all infection prevention, safety, and regulatory requirements
Teamwork & Culture
Works as part of a supportive, highly collaborative SPD and surgical services team
Willingness to assist teammates during peak volumes and adapt to changing priorities
Open communication, reliability, and professionalism are essential

Schedule & Work Environment
Hours: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
No weekends or holidays
Q4 may require overtime due to increased surgical volume
