The Sterile Processing Technician 1 is responsible for the sterile processing of supplies and maintenance of the operating room and various other departments within the hospital.
Education• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required • Current enrollment or completion of a Sterile Processing/Central Service Technician program preferred Experience• Experience in a medical or hospital environment, preferably working with medical/surgical supplies preferred• Microbiology and/or knowledge of steam and Ethylene Oxide sterilization preferred Licenses and Certifications• CRCST - Certified Registered Central Services Technician Certification from HSPA preferred • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
