Primary Duties and Responsibilities


Sterile Supervisor of the Surgical Processing division requires outstanding communication and critical thinking skills. Incumbent has a strong clinical background to assist training of staff to perform duties as a Sterile Processing Technician to include: decontamination and/or processing of equipment and instrumentation, and distribution of supplies or equipment, as assigned within UCLA Healthcare. Orients, supervises and evaluates Surgical Processing Instrument Technicians. Ability to consistently apply standards and achieve successful outcomes related to all types of sterilization practices for multiple departments within the hospital. The position also oversees high level disinfection (HLD), sterilization, storage and transport for offsite ambulatory clinics, and other departments of the hospital.


Job Qualifications


Required Certification: Certification as a Surgical Technician or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Healthcare Leader in SPD (CHLSPD) Preferred Certification: Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (C.E.R.)
