Job Type: Per Diem

The Sterile Processing Supervisor assists/supports Director administratively. Assists in supervisory planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling activities. Responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs.

  • Knowledgeable in all instrumentation for all surgical services and resource person for sterilizers and processing procedures.
  • Establish policies and procedures for instrument control and ways to decrease expenditure and turns over instrument trays and keeps track of schedule.
  • Summits capital budget and works through the budget process and maintains adequate supplies, summits supply requests.
  • Performs employee evaluations fairly and on time, makes staff assignments based on needs of the department, and works with OR Educator to arrange staff in services as needed.
  • Keeps communication open between service coordinators, and representatives and communicates with OR manager as to the daily running of the schedule and instrument needs.

Certifications:

  • Certification in Central Sterile or Surgical Services preferred.
