Job Description

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a STEM Education Postdoctoral Fellowship supervised by Professor James Álvarez in the research area of mathematics education. The opening is for academic year 2026-2027. We are interested in candidates who will contribute to P-20 education initiatives through teaching, research, and service. The initial appointment will be for one year. The appointment will consist of a 1/1 teaching load per long semester with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2026. The annual salary is $60,000 annually with health and retirement benefits. Additionally, the sponsor will provide $3,000 annually for research travel.

Qualifications

Ph.D. by July 1, 2026 in mathematics education or a related field with the equivalent of a Master’s degree in mathematics.
