We are currently seeking a Steel Structure Supervisor / QC, reporting directly to a Steel Structure Superintendent to join our team based in Batam

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise, monitor, and inspect steel structure erection activities performed by subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements and approved procedures.
  • Ensure all steel structure works are executed in accordance with project specifications, engineering drawings, quality requirements, and HSE standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and timely responses to site technical queries in accordance with project standards and construction requirements.
  • Review and verify subcontractor manpower, equipment, tools, and material requirements for additional or variation works when required.
  • Review and verify subcontractor progress records and supporting documentation related to steel structure erection activities.
  • Verify material certificates and supporting documentation for structural steel materials, bolts, nuts, washers, and other associated components prior to installation.
  • Confirm calibration certificates for torque wrenches, surveying instruments, and other inspection equipment prior to final inspection activities.
  • Inspect and verify structural alignment, levelness, bolt installation, and torque tightening to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Prepare, monitor, and close structural punch list items in coordination with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Attend construction progress and coordination meetings with clients and subcontractors to address technical and execution-related issues.
  • Perform vendor and fabrication shop visits, as required, to monitor fabrication progress and ensure timely delivery of structural steel materials.
  • Verify delivered steel structure materials against approved drawings, material take-offs, and packing lists.
  • Review subcontractor method statements, lifting plans, and erection methodologies for light, medium, and heavy steel structure installation activities.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture across all steel structure construction activities.
  • Implement applicable Field Quality Control Plans, procedures, and construction specifications for steel structure works.
  • Support the Quality Control Manager in executing quality control activities, including monitoring inspection requirements, reviewing quality records, and recommending improvements to quality processes.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report quality control results and ensure timely resolution of quality issues and non-conformities.
  • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and construction quality dossiers to ensure full traceability and compliance with project requirements.
  • Implement Field Non-Conformance Management Procedures and support corrective and preventive actions when required

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in steel structure erection, inspection, quality control, or construction supervision.
  • Knowledge of structural steel construction, inspection requirements, and quality management systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and material documentation.
  • Familiarity with NCR management, inspections, and quality records.
  • Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
