Job Role

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the steel strand production line, ensuring production schedules, product quality, equipment performance, and workforce productivity are achieved safely and efficiently. The role focuses on production planning, shop-floor supervision, process compliance, equipment coordination, and continuous improvement to achieve manufacturing targets.

Working closely with production planning, quality, maintenance, and plant management teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining production efficiency, minimizing downtime, ensuring consistent product quality, and leading frontline production personnel within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily production line activities to ensure production targets are completed according to schedule.
  • Coordinate manpower allocation, shift scheduling, and shop-floor operations to maximize production efficiency.
  • Monitor production processes and ensure compliance with established manufacturing procedures and quality standards.
  • Identify production deviations, product quality issues, and operational bottlenecks while implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and coordinate preventive maintenance activities with the maintenance team.
  • Report equipment failures and support repair activities to minimize production downtime.
  • Enforce workplace health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures while maintaining a safe production environment.
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate production operators, maintaining workforce discipline, attendance, technical capability, and overall team performance.
  • Maintain accurate production records, operational documentation, shift reports, and 5S workplace management standards.
  • Collaborate closely with production planning, quality, warehouse, and maintenance teams to improve operational efficiency, reduce material waste, optimize energy consumption, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity enhancement, quality improvement, cost control, and operational excellence.


Requirements

  • Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, or other related technical disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of production experience within steel manufacturing, metal processing, wire products, construction materials, or other heavy manufacturing industries.
  • Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, Team Leader, or equivalent production leadership role is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of steel strand production processes, manufacturing standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Proven experience managing production personnel while achieving production, quality, safety, and operational targets.
  • Experience identifying common production defects, including broken wires, strand looseness, insufficient tensile strength, and other manufacturing quality issues.
  • Familiarity with the operation of wire drawing machines, stranding machines, take-up reels, tensioning equipment, packaging machinery, and similar industrial production equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, equipment inspections, and basic production equipment troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, production efficiency improvement, and operational best practices is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, planning, and people management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities within manufacturing environments.
  • High attention to detail, operational discipline, and commitment to workplace safety and product quality.
  • Basic to intermediate English communication skills are preferred for technical documentation and cross-functional communication.
