Steel Production Associate – Worthington Steel 2nd & 3rd Shift – New Applicants Only

Worthington Steel is hiring dependable associates with solid work history and reliable transportation for our 2nd and 3rd shift teams. Pay & Benefits

  • Starting pay of $20/hour, with the potential to earn more based on prior manufacturing, industrial, or equipment operation experience, plus a $1.50/hour shift differential.

Schedule

  • First‑shift training (7a–3p) for ~90 days
  • Move to 2nd shift (3p–11p) or 3rd shift (11p–7a)
  • 8‑hour shifts with paid lunch

What You’ll Do

As a Steel Production Associate, you'll help produce high-quality steel products used by leading automotive manufacturers across North America. Every day, you'll play an important role in delivering products our customers rely on.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Move, stage, and handle materials safely
  • Package, band, weigh and inspect steel products
  • Load and unload production equipment
  • Perform quality checks to ensure product excellence
  • Work with your team to safely meet production goals

You'll receive hands-on training from experienced team members who are committed to helping you succeed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical, repetitive work
  • Reliable transportation (facility not accessible by public transit, pedestrian or bike traffic)
  • Flexibility to work afternoon or night shifts
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Preferred

  • Manufacturing or industrial experience
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other industrial equipment
