As the Inland Operations Coordinator, you will manage inland logistics across road, rail, and intermodal transport, coordinating closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant movement of bulk liquid shipments.

What you will be doing

You will coordinate inland transportation activities for bulk liquid shipments, planning and scheduling movements via road, rail, and intermodal networks while proactively monitoring shipments and resolving operational issues such as delays, disruptions, and equipment shortages. Working closely with customers, suppliers, Sales, Fleet, Procurement, Customer Success Managers, and Supplier Relationship & Optimization Managers, you will ensure shipments are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with regulatory and safety requirements, while maintaining strong communication and accurate documentation. In this fast-paced environment, you will also contribute to process improvement and digital transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing inland logistics performance and service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute inland transportation via road, rail, and intermodal networks to ensure on-time collections and delivery.
• Track and monitor shipments, proactively addressing any delays, disruptions, or service failures.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues, such as missed pickups and equipment shortages.
• Provide updates to internal teams and customers on shipment status, delays, or required interventions, as well as scheduling loads and deliveries.
• Identify and flag instances of extra charges, service failures, or billing discrepancies for financial recovery, communicate such charges to customers (and Customer Success Managers where appropriate), and work with internal billing teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and potential reimbursements.
• Ensure all inland transport activities adhere to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
• Work closely with internal teams such as Sales, Fleet, and Procurement to align inland transport with broader logistics operations.
• Participate in initiatives to enhance inland logistics processes, implement best practices, and support digital transformation efforts.

Qualifications

• Preferred to have a bachelor’s degree or 2 years of experience working in a logistics/shipping company in a similar role.
• Must have a proven record of excellent work quality and accuracy.
• Must have experience working in an international environment.
• Language skills – Fluent in English and preferably 1 regional language.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively convey information to suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Meticulous in maintaining accurate documentation with a keen eye for identifying errors and discrepancies.
