Job Description

What You'll be Doing:

• Implement literacy routines, hands-on literacy activities, games, and/or basic fact fluency-building activities during the after school program
• Participate in all training related to the school-aged programs component area you will be implementing
• Assist with organizing, maintaining, and preparing materials for activities, as needed
• Work with Program Coordinator to plan literacy activities that you will be implementing, as needed
• Incorporate one hour of planning time into weekly schedule to prepare for programming
• Assist in administering assessments, as appropriate
• Submit group attendance to the Program Coordinator as designated by program policy
• Work with identified children struggling in literacy in grades K-1 who would benefit from small group assistance in literacy

Job Details:

• Working days: 4 days per week
• Hours per day: 2 hours
• Temporary for the 2026.2027 school year

What We Offer:

• Pay: $45.00 per hour or per diem, whichever is lower
• Supplemental Contract

What You'll Need:

• Education: Bachelors from an accredited college or university in job-related area.
• Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Must have a Washington State Teaching Certificate. Must meet WA State Certification Criteria.
• Minimum qualifications: Relates well with students, parents and peers. Must have excellent classroom control. Willingness and ability to work in a team environment. Willingness and ability to work at district and building level in developing curriculum. An enthusiastic, creative and resourceful motivator of students. Willingness to work with students outside the classroom environment, i.e. club advisor, class advisor, etc. Present a neat, clean, professional appearance at all times. Must be goal oriented (long range and short range).

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 34% sitting, 33% walking, and 33% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
