Join our team and have a positive impact for members of our Y by ensuring families have access to safe care for their children while they engage in healthy living opportunities. This position is for an individual to support a group of children, ranging in age from 6 weeks-10 years old. Our goal is to support each individual child, ensuring children are nurtured and well cared for while they are utilizing the Stay and Play program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Candidate will execute the daily operations of the Stay and Play program.
Directly supervise and care for a group of young children.
Collaborate with other Stay and Play Staff members.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and Y staff members.
Monitor personal hygiene of children in your care.
Always maintain a clean and safe environment.
Implement developmental age-appropriate activities with children.
Provide care, guidance and developmental experiences meeting appropriate educational and emotional needs of each child.
Keep accurate documentation on the children in the program and submit incident reports when necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the Stay and Play Staff Member is required to sit, stand, walk, bend and carry young children. The employee must also be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to represent the YMCA in an effective way in the community.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with volunteers, staff and the community.
