Contract type: Open ended
Location: Nyon (WFH up to one day per week)
Start date: ASAP

Main goal

Providing legal support and advice to UEFA colleagues and external stakeholders regarding the UEFA regulatory framework for UEFA events (e.g. UEFA Congress, UEFA Executive Committee meetings) and projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing legal advice in the conception, interpretation and application of the UEFA Statutes (in particular in relation to Swiss law)
  • Providing legal advice on the implementation and application of UEFA’s regulatory framework (i.e. Competition - and Technical regulations)
  • Managing/Overseeing all authorisation requests for matches/competitions in accordance with the UEFA Authorisation Rules governing International Club Competitions and other applicable rules and regulations
  • Providing legal support in proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)

Assisting in Congress related matters, including:

  • Draft of Circular letter & Congress agenda
  • Preparation of legal related slides for Congress presentation
  • Review of documents for elections to the UEFA Executive Committee and European members of the FIFA Council
  • Review of documents for Congress
  • Preparation of EXCO memos and relevant slides (if needed)
  • Follow-up on Circular Letters
  • Preparation of draft agenda
  • Preparation of master presentation
  • Preparation of draft action list and report for the Chair

Requirements

Experience:

  • from 1 to 3 years as a lawyer in an independent law firm or in the legal division of an
    international sports federation

Education:

  • Bachelor's in law or an equivalent qualification
  • Masters in sports law

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and French is required. Proficiency in German would be a significant advantage.

Other requirements:

- Relocation to Switzerland/France is expected

- Excellent drafting and analytical skills

- Interested in Football

- Attention to detail

- Ability to keep calm under pressure and cope with stress

- Discreet and committed
