Job Description

The role of the Station Supervisor includes responsibility for delivery of work as assigned in the areas of National Programme Delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that contractor personnel complete work safely, on time and to required standards.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for staff, contractors and the public.
  • Carry out safety and quality audits as per agreed audit schedule and provide feedback on performance.
  • Use Safety Management System and Local Safety Plans.
  • Organising, planning and prioritising for the delivery of work programmes.
  • Scheduling work and tracking and reporting on performance.
  • Managing contractor productivity to replace aging network assets as well as installing new assets.
  • Ensure that work schedules are organised in the most efficient manner possible, minimising disruptive influences.
  • Managing costs to minimise/eliminate the risk of over-expenditure on Project Capital Approvals or work programmes.
  • Financial management, i.e. liaison with QS, management files, processing of invoices, etc.
  • Managing Contractors and the interface with internal delivery teams.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with BBC.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate/A suitable Level 7 or higher qualification in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical or other suitable alternative qualification with a sizeable electrical theory content
  • A minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of Network Assets and Standards in Particular – HV Stations, Cables, Lines & Protection.
  • An understanding of ESB's Group policies in all dealings with staff, customers, contractors, general public etc.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ESB Networks Safety Rules.
  • Full clean EU driving licence.

Desirable

  • Good knowledge of MV & HV Network Operations.
  • Project Management capability.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Offices applications.
  • Knowledge of ESB Procurement systems.
  • Familiarity with Business Systems.

Location

Flexible within the Northeast Region.

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary

€59,000 to €70,000 per annum
