Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Stations Design Support Specialist to join our Planning, Engineering, and Construction team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.

What does a Stations Design Support Specialist do for us?

They support Stations Engineers, Designers, and Leaders in creating accurate and complete design packages, standards documentation, and construction specifications.

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Knowledge of:

  • MS Office Suite
  • Basic electricity
  • Electrical drawings and schematics
  • ANSI drafting standards

Preferred:

  • Electrical Drafting Standards, Stations Drafting Standards
  • Meridian Document Management Systems

Skills in:

  • Computer skills including Excel, Meridian, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, file management, and plotting

Preferred:

  • Asset Suite (labor entry, Purchasing card, inventory)
  • Advanced AutoCAD and PDF Editing
  • Copilot (or similar AI tools)
  • Power Automate & Nintex (or similar automations tools)
  • Advanced Microsoft tools (SharePoint, OneNote, etc.)

Ability to:

  • Accept responsibility and adapt readily to new situations
  • Work well and communicate with others
  • Be thorough and meet accepted deadlines
  • Work in a team environment


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Associate's degree in related field or completion of a related 2-year vocational/technical training program

OR

  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree in CADD technology

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in Stations/Utility Structural Drafting, Control Drafting, or related field

Preferred:

  • 3 years of experience in Stations design/construction processes and procedures.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.
