The Stationary Engineer serves as the operating engineer on a shift in the Central Power Plant, responsible for the operations and maintenance of gas and oil-fired boilers, central air conditioning equipment, and the supporting auxiliary equipment needed to provide uninterrupted steam supply to campus facilities. This position is for 10pm to 6am.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquiries and/or medical examinations to determine ability to perform the job. Valid Maryland Non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver's license may be required. Candidates selected for employment may be required to be trained to work with asbestos.
Salary and Benefits
Targeted hiring range of $75,000 - $80,000 annually and full University benefits that includes annual leave, up to 17 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission. When applicable, a 2.5% increase may be added to the annual salary, pending successful completion of the initial six-month probationary period, for this position.
