About the role
In this position, you'll be managing the competency, training, and development requirements of Station Controllers. You will lead and manage a team of 2 station controllers during operational shifts, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of all stations and distributed stabling yards by overseeing operations management, supervision, monitoring, and administration activities coordinated from our operations center in Ellerslie. You will additionally escalate issues appropriately and ensure that a high level of service delivery and emergency response readiness is always maintained.
You will ideally be an experienced team supervisor, be proactive, ready to work in a fast-paced environment and have strong interpersonal skills. In addition, your experience working in a facility control room operations will be crucial in our joint success. This role requires 24/7 coverage, and a willingness to work shift patterns including nights, weekends, and public holidays. You will be based at Auckland Rail Operations Centre (AROC), Ellerslie.

From 16 January 2022, Auckland One Rail (AOR) is the operator of Auckland's rail services on behalf of Auckland Transport. Under the contract, AOR is responsible for train operations, station operations, station and depot maintenance (from 2023), and maintenance of the EMUs (from 2025).
AOR is a joint venture between ComfortdelGro Transit (CDGT) and UGL Rail in a 50:50 equity share.
