Your opportunity
As a Station Assistant, you’ll join a team of six to providing exceptional customer service and completing general cleaning duties at the Gladstone Train Station.
This is a permanent part-time position.

Purpose that Counts. As a Station Assistant some of your duties will include:
• Assisting customers and handling luggage
• Operating station machinery and equipment
• Making platform announcements and managing the platform
• General cleaning and maintenance duties of the station and bathroom facilities
• Reporting any safety concerns to the operation coordinator

Roles / Hours:
This is a permanent part-time role which offers 19.5 hours per week.
Shifts are generally between the hours of 00:00 (midnight) to 20:00 hours where you can expect to work a combination of early morning, afternoon and overnight shifts based on the following roster:
• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Flexibility is required in this position as hours are subject to change based on operational requirements.
We are seeking to connect with someone who ideally will have:
• The ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong communication skills and a customer focused attitude
• A strong work ethic and willingness to go the ‘extra mile’
• A safety-focused mindset
• Ability to undertake a variety of manual handling tasks including cleaning and lifting up to 20 kilograms
• Previous cleaning experience or garden maintenance experience is desirable but not essential
• The ability to travel within your position when required (e.g. Brisbane and Rockhampton for training)
