Job Description

School Summary: Inspire Connections Academy is a tuition-free, online public charter school serving students in grades K–12 throughout Idaho. Inspire Connections Academy is authorized under state law by the Idaho Charter School Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors. It is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement and has met Cognia's criteria for educational quality. Inspire Connections Academy participates in the PERSI retirement system.

Working from the Boise office located at 9550 W Bethel Ct, the State Testing Coordinator plans, coordinates, and administers Inspire Connections Academy’s state-required and schoolwide assessments. This position serves as the school’s primary lead for state and schoolwide assessment operations and ensures all assessments are administered accurately, securely, efficiently, and in compliance with state, federal, and school requirements. The State Testing Coordinator oversees the complete testing process, from annual planning, scheduling, staffing, training, technology preparation, vendor coordination, and testing-site logistics through participation monitoring, make-up testing, reporting, and post-assessment follow-up.

Position Responsibilities:

The State Testing Coordinator will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:

State & Schoolwide Assessments

  • Coordinate all state-required and schoolwide assessments, including:
    • Idaho Reading Indicator (IRI)
    • Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT)
    • SAT and PSAT
    • Advanced Placement (AP) tests
    • Idaho Alternate Assessment (IDAA)
    • WIDA/ACCESS and English Learner assessments, in collaboration with the EL team
    • Dyslexia Screener
    • Idaho Civics Assessment
    • Schoolwide benchmark assessments
    • Dual enrollment examinations
    • Workplace readiness and skills assessment (CTE)
    • Other assessments as assigned by the state department of education (such as NAEP)
  • Develop and maintain the annual assessment calendar, testing windows, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Ensure assessments are administered accurately, securely, and in accordance with state, federal, vendor, and school requirements.
  • Coordinate accommodations and testing supports with Special Education, 504, and EL staff.
  • Monitor testing participation and completion, including make-up testing, to meet state participation requirements.

Testing Logistics, Scheduling & Locations

  • Coordinate all remote testing, statewide testing locations, student schedules, staffing, and testing-day logistics.
  • Identify and secure testing locations throughout Idaho and coordinate contracts and necessary services with testing-site vendors.
  • Coordinate student registration and communicate testing dates, locations, expectations, and requirements to students and families.

Technology & Testing Equipment

  • Oversee the preparation and readiness of all school-owned testing devices, including required operating-system updates, testing applications, secure browsers, software installations, configurations, and pre-testing of equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of testing laptops, chargers, headsets, microphones, hotspots, and other testing equipment.
  • Coordinate the distribution and collection of testing technology to and from testing sites.
  • Work closely with staff and vendors to troubleshoot device, network, software, and testing-platform issues.
  • Develop clear troubleshooting procedures for staff and provide real-time technology support during testing windows.
  • Ensure school-owned testing equipment is appropriately secured, maintained, tracked, and stored between testing administrations.

Assessment Data & Student Support

  • Review and communicate state and schoolwide assessment results to school leadership and instructional staff.
  • Identify students and student groups who are not demonstrating proficiency or adequate academic progress.
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, interventionists, and other staff to ensure students who are not demonstrating proficiency receive appropriate interventions and instructional support.
  • Provide training and resources to help teachers understand assessment results and use data to inform instruction.
  • Monitor student progress following interventions and work with instructional teams to determine when additional support is needed.

Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary school contact for state assessment requirements, testing vendors, and testing-site partners.
  • Attend required state and vendor assessment training and communicate relevant updates to staff.
  • Maintain accurate testing records, procedures, documentation, contracts, and participation data.
  • Evaluate testing processes after each assessment window and recommend improvements.
  • Lead and support the State Testing Team, coordinate statewide testing staff assignments, and provide required training and ongoing guidance to ensure staff are prepared for successful test administration.
  • Travel throughout Idaho as needed for testing preparation and administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • This is a 10.5-month continuing position for the 2026-27 school year, starting ASAP. Final data review is typically outside of the school year. Required summer work would be compensated at the hourly summer rate. Data review typically requires no more than 10 total hours of summer work.
  • This position reports directly to the Manager of School & Student Accountability.
  • Valid Idaho teaching credential preferred.
  • Applicants must reside in Idaho and be able to work from the Boise office located at 9550 W Bethel Ct.
  • Strong technology skills, particularly with Google Workspace, Zoom, and Windows-based operating systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational and project-management skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze assessment data, identify areas of student need, and collaborate with instructional staff to support intervention planning and monitor student progress.
  • High degree of flexibility, strong collaboration skills, and ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Idaho as required for testing preparation and administration, including occasional overnight travel.
