Role: State Performance Lead – South East Queensland North

Location: Supporting services across South East Queensland North

Goodstart Early Learning is currently seeking a State Performance Lead who will work alongside the State Manager in South East Queensland North.

The State Performance Lead will work closely with the State Leadership Team, and broader around-centre support teams to ensure we have the best Centre Directors in every centre, every day.

The role supports all centres across the state, forming a holistic view of centre performance that takes into account each centre’s unique context, team, and leadership capability. You’ll also hold systems line management and performance management responsibilities for a group of Centre Directors, assigned by the State Manager.

This is a key leadership role—supporting Centre Directors to achieve exceeding performance and grow into empowered, informed, and ultimately adaptive leaders.

Your Impact:

  • Empower Centre Directors and teams to uplift performance
  • Understand each centre’s KPIs and capability needs
  • Simplify or remove ineffective management processes
  • Monitor performance using data, observations, and insights
  • Collaborate with the State Support Team and Direct Centre Support Team members to align support with centre needs
  • Work with expert services to uphold Goodstart’s standards
  • Assist the State Manager with succession planning for Centre Directors
  • Ensure centres have effective systems and processes in place to Exceed National Quality Standards

You’ll bring to the table:

  • Demonstrated ability to strategically think, collaborate and coordinate across state and national functions and the ability to navigate complexity, competing priorities and constantly changing situations and needs.
  • Being a dynamic individual adept at supporting and surpassing KPIs, while navigating through various centres, each with distinct capabilities and operational landscapes.
  • A sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF).
  • Early Childhood Teaching qualification preferred.
  • Strong business acumen across all domains of centre performance
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate existing knowledge, analyse data and formulate strategies to improve current performance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and nurture high performing teams
  • Valid QLD Working with Children Check Card
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Current Open Driving License

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
