Job Description

Cosmax Prestige Brands is Australia’s leading independent luxury fragrance and beauty distributor and has been so for over 30 years. Our brands include Dolce & Gabbana, Guerlain, Bvlgari, Acqua di Parma, Coach, Jimmy Choo, Montblanc, Issey Miyake, Elie Saab, Kenzo, and many more.

Based in, and focusing on the greater Brisbane region but including all of QLD, as our QLD Department Stores State Manager, you will take up the challenge to lead our team to continued growth and success.

This is a rewarding and challenging position best suited to an individual with proven experience within the department store environment and who has worked as an Account Manager or Sales Manager.

About the role

Ultimately this is a sales role, and your key focus will be to maintain and grow the retail sales within your territory.

Calendar control will be essential as you ensure you visit your stores (including those on the Gold & Sunshine Coasts) on a regular basis. While you are in the stores you will be working to maintain existing relationships and develop new ones, ensuring all in-store displays meet our standards, and checking in on your teams of beauty & fragrance consultants to provide them with guidance, training and feedback. Naturally you will always be seeking new opportunities for our brands including seeking additional counter and display allocation, and
opportunities to increase our team member presence and head count.

You will also liaise closely with our Brand, PR and VM teams located in NSW in relation to current and future events, promotions and brand activities. And you have support from our Training Department in keeping everyone’s skills up to an exceptionally high level.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside our highly successful and absolutely fabulous national sales and account management team, leaning on their extensive knowledge of the industry and our portfolios.

Your challenging and rewarding days will see you:

  • Recruiting, rostering and managing your team of beauty & fragrance consultants
  • Managing your budgets for sales and staffing costs
  • Visiting retail locations to check and install displays, monitor stock levels and ensure everything is within company and brand guidelines
  • Attend events and promotional activities for your brands
  • Assist in developing seasonal brand business plans
  • Undertake daily activities to ensure you and your team are always working to increase sales and meet and exceed sales targets
  • Working with our internal teams including Marketing, VM, Training, PR, and Operations.
  • And so much more.

  • Can demonstrate sales experience within retail department stores.
  • Love supervising, training and developing your team members and can show us how you do it.
  • Have worked with Department Stores and understand the challenges and opportunities of this specific network of distribution.
  • Focus on outcomes and thrive when inspiring and motivating your teams.
  • Have a solid understanding of financials and can manage your budgets, particularly those relating to staffing costs and sales results
  • Can drive results and have an autonomous, “can-do” and proactive attitude and are able to take the reins and make the state your own.
  • Ideally you will have prior experience within the beauty or fragrance industry and/or the department store environment.

To be successful in this position, you do need to be able to jump in feet first so you should have similar work experience and ideally a work history in the premium or luxury retail space.

Because of the nature of this role you must also have your own vehicle and be licenced to drive within Australia. This role does require travel throughout greater Brisbane and beyond. You will be based from your home and working remotely and on sites. A travel allowance is included in the salary package.

This is a permanent full time role with some out of hours work required.
