About our Role

We currently have an opportunity for a State Distributor Manager – South Australia/NT to join our Foodservice team on a permanent, full-time basis, based out of our flexible, co-working Adelaide office.

This senior, state-level role is responsible for leading distributor performance across SA/NT, with a strong focus on commercial outcomes, customer relationships and execution of state and national strategies. The role works closely with internal stakeholders and leads a SA-based field team to drive consistent, in market execution.

The position operates across both office and field, with regular travel throughout metropolitan and regional SA, Northern Territory and Mildura and plays a key role in supporting the continued growth and success of our national Foodservice business.

What you will do

  • Lead the overall strategy and performance of SA distributor accounts to achieve agreed sales, margin and growth targets
  • Develop and execute state distributor plans aligned to national Foodservice strategy
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key distributor partners
  • Lead, coach and develop a SA based field team to drive consistent in market execution
  • Manage forecasting, trade investment and promotional activity at a state level
  • Monitor market trends/intel, competitor activity and distribution performance to inform decision making
  • Work closely with Simplot national/key account, marketing, finance and demand planning teams, driving growth, sound commercial outcomes and forecast accuracy in SA/NT
  • Maintain a strong balance between office based planning and regular field engagement
  • Undertake regular travel across SA and NT, including Mildura, (VIC).
  • Collaborate closely with the Simplot national Foodservice team to contribute to positive engagement and commercial success to achieve national budget expectations

About You

  • Significant commercial experience within foodservice or a related FMCG environment
  • Strong understanding of the South Australian Foodservice market, with established distributor and customer relationships (highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated success managing distributor or wholesale customer relationships at a senior level
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience with forecasting, trade spend and joint business planning
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop high performing teams
  • Well developed negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation capability in a fast paced environment
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across cross functional teams
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM or sales reporting systems
