About the role

As State Asset & Maintenance Manager for NSW and ACT, you’ll take ownership of facilities, asset management and maintenance outcomes across our store network. You’ll work closely with operational and State leads, technicians and our facilities management partners to keep stores safe, compliant and operating reliably for our teams and customers. As a key conduit, you’ll balance day-to-day responsiveness with proactive asset planning and continuous improvement. You will also:

• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance delivery across NSW and ACT.
• Partner with operational and State leads to resolve maintenance priorities.
• Manage facilities service providers, technicians, subcontractors and suppliers against agreed service level agreements.
• Visit stores, review asset performance and identify durability and reliability improvements.
• Coordinate critical incidents and escalations
• Participate new store handovers, transformational renewals with key stakeholders.
• Work with Finance, Procurement and Property on budgets, contracts and asset planning.

About you and your skills

You’re an experienced facilities leader with strong exposure to multi-site retail, operations and/or centre management or similarly complex asset portfolios, and you know how to build trusted relationships across operational and technical teams. Agile and responsive, you communicate clearly, work comfortably across competing priorities and stay focused on practical outcomes that keep stores operating safely and efficiently. You will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Facilities or Building Services, Asset Management, or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle planning, including condition assessments, renewal forecasting and asset end of life replacement strategies.
• Demonstrate a balance commercial acumen to ensure budget financial control is managed for the State and various activities within.
• Proven experience leading multi-site maintenance and asset management across large portfolios, teams and vendor networks.
• Experience overseeing state-level operations, including reactive and planned maintenance delivery.
• Experience managing maintenance providers, contractors and operational stakeholders.
• Ability to manage complex task and activities simultaneously across multiple asset disciplines in multiple locations on a continual ongoing basis.
