We are seeking a Startup Coordinator with experience in the commissioning and startup of pipeline and facilities projects. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and implementing commissioning and startup activities in support of gas and liquids projects, ensuring a flawless transition from project execution to operations.

You will work closely with project teams and Business Units to develop comprehensive startup plans and schedules that safely, efficiently, and effectively hand over assets to Operations.

Join our Projects Operations Management, Startup and Central Support team and play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure safely and reliably.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide technical expertise to project teams and develop comprehensive startup procedures and execution plans required to optimally and efficiently transition projects from Commissioning to Operations.

  • Support field execution of startup activities when required.

  • Work collaboratively with Project team, Field Operations, Control Center Operations, TIS, Supply Chain Management, Infrastructure Planning, and other key Business Unit partners to ensure procedure quality, acceptance, and execution.

  • Ensure commissioning and startup processes, practices, and procedures are developed, implemented, and maintained.

  • Prepare and manage project cost estimates for internal and external resources which are required for startup.

  • Coordinate specialty service providers / vendors in conjunction with project resources to provide required technical expertise in planning and execution of start-up activities.

Who You Are:

  • Engineering degree or Technology diploma (with additional practical experience) in an applicable subject area.

  • Seven (7) or more years of related experience.

  • Aptitude and communications skills related to acting independently with planning, problem solving, decision – making and negotiating skills.

  • Comfortable with leading, managing, and coordinating contractors and vendors onsite.

  • Hands-on, practical field execution experienced individuals who can provide knowledge and troubleshooting onsite is preferred.

  • Pipeline pigging experience in abnormal operating conditions, dual phase gas and liquid (Nitrogen Pipeline Displacement Purge) is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with frequent trips (up to 35%) to field sites.

  • Ability to travel and work on projects throughout Canada and United States. Valid passport is required.

  • Travel to field worksite locations will require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
