At Koch Finishing Systems, we design and deliver innovative surface finishing solutions used across industries—from automotive to aerospace. We're seeking a Start-up and Commissioning Start-Up Technician to join our team and support the installation, commissioning, and service of automated finishing systems throughout the U.S.
This is a field-based position with frequent travel. Candidates can reside anywhere in the U.S., as long as they are within one hour of a regional or major airport.

What You’ll Do
• Assist with mechanical installation and start-up of new systems at customer sites
• Conduct equipment commissioning, calibration, and functional testing
• Troubleshoot and debug industrial control systems, including sensors, PLCs, HMIs, and related components
• Respond to field service calls and resolve technical issues on-site
• Perform preventive maintenance, system audits, and support upgrade projects
• Interface directly with customers, providing technical guidance and training as needed
• Work closely with project management and engineering to ensure successful installs
• Document service activities and maintain detailed reports
• Travel up to 75% (domestic, with occasional international opportunities)

What You Bring
• Experience in mechanical assembly, field service, or equipment commissioning
• Familiarity with industrial controls (PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently in the field
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently
• Must live within 1 hour of a major or regional airport
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record
