Stakeholder and Major Customer Relations Team Leader – Permanent – Perth
We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Stakeholder and Major Customer Relations Team Leader to lead the development and delivery of Western Power's stakeholder and major customer engagement strategies. In this role, you will drive meaningful relationships that enhance stakeholder outcomes, strengthen our reputation, support our social licence to operate, and minimise business risk while enabling the achievement of strategic objectives.
Leading a team of experienced stakeholder and customer engagement professionals, you will oversee Western Power's stakeholder engagement framework and the implementation of key relationship plans. You will also provide strategic advice and insights on stakeholder and customer sentiment, emerging risks, and regional priorities to support informed decision-making across the business.
Your Role in Action
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of stakeholder and major customer engagement professionals, fostering collaboration, capability growth and a consistent, regionally aligned approach to engagement.
- Drive the implementation of Western Power's stakeholder engagement framework and relationship strategy, ensuring best-practice engagement across the business.
- Provide expert advice on stakeholder and customer engagement approaches that strengthen relationships, reduce business risk and support successful project delivery.
- Lead Western Power's Local Government relationship strategy, building strong partnerships and addressing the unique needs of metropolitan and regional communities.
- Manage complex, sensitive and high-profile stakeholder and customer issues, providing strategic guidance on engagement, reputation and risk management.
- Deliver actionable insights on stakeholder and customer sentiment, emerging issues and regional priorities to inform business planning and decision-making.
- Oversee the development of compelling communications and engagement materials, ensuring clear, consistent and effective messaging across stakeholder groups.
- Manage external consultants, suppliers and engagement platforms to deliver high-quality stakeholder and customer outcomes, while ensuring contractual and commercial obligations are met.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of building, coaching and inspiring high-performing teams.
- Significant experience in stakeholder engagement, customer relations and/or community engagement within complex organisational environments.
- Demonstrated ability to apply best-practice stakeholder and community engagement approaches across large-scale infrastructure, capital works or operational programs.
- Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to foster trusted partnerships, navigate sensitive issues and achieve positive outcomes in challenging situations.
- Strong communication, consultation and active listening skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences and senior stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Social Sciences, Urban and Regional Planning, or a related discipline, coupled with experience managing commercial or contractual arrangements and associated risks.
