TIG Welder

Starting Pay: $24-$32+

Shift: Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pm

Watson Custom Tanks is looking for a TIG Welder to join our growing team in Strafford, Missouri. We specialize in designing and manufacturing high-quality stainless-steel tanks and vessels, providing innovative solutions for customers across a variety of industries.

What You'll Do

As a TIG Welder, you will:

• Perform TIG welding on stainless-steel tanks and components
• Layout and fit tank heads and shells according to blueprints and specifications
• Prepare weld joints and ensure proper fit-up before welding
• Use weld gauges to verify weld quality and compliance
• Complete weld logs, heat code documentation, and traveler paperwork accurately
• Read and interpret basic blueprints and shop drawings
• Operate hand tools and fabrication equipment safely
• Use overhead cranes and material-handling equipment safely
• Work within confined spaces when required
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE
• Support teammates and assist with additional manufacturing duties as needed

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Basic TIG welding experience
• Ability to pass a 1G TIG weld test
• Basic fabrication skills
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Basic understanding of weld gauges and blueprint reading
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Dependable attendance and work ethic
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding certification from an accredited institution
• Experience welding stainless steel
• Experience with pulsed MIG welding
• Experience in an ASME manufacturing environment
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts
• Welding/fabrication experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequently bend, crouch, kneel, and reach
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
• Work safely around manufacturing equipment
• Wear required PPE, including safety glasses and steel-toe boots
