Working environment

We are looking for an intern for a 6-month internship starting in January 2027.

Based at our headquarters, you will join the Business Development & Strategy team within Saft’s Performance & Growth Department. At the corporate level, this department also includes Public Affairs & CSR, Operational Excellence, Quality, Procurement, and IT.

Activities

Your role will be to support the Strategy & Planning Manager in the following activities:

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to the annual strategic planning update process (markets, investments, etc.), including the preparation of executive summaries for senior management.

Strategic Marketing

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses (economic and technological studies, management briefing notes) on our markets, competitors, key customers, and innovative start-ups to identify new opportunities in the battery industry.
  • Maintain ongoing market intelligence activities (competition, regulations, technology) and update the internal reference report on competitors, which is regularly presented to senior management.

Ad Hoc Assignments

  • Depending on your profile and previous experience in finance, you may also support the preparation of investment cases related to organic and/or external growth opportunities.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Master's degree level (or equivalent), preferably from a leading Engineering School, Business School, or Finance program.

Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of corporate strategy, management consulting, and finance fundamentals.

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities.
  • Excellent written communication and PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, particularly in financial or market modeling.
  • Fluent in both French and English.

Personal Qualities

  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Rigorous approach to analysis and deliverables.

Experience

Previous experience is not mandatory; however, an initial internship in strategy consulting, finance, industrial marketing, or within the battery, chemical, or manufacturing industries would be a strong advantage.
