
La business unit NXP Automotive est en charge du développement de circuits intégrés pour la voiture connectée, couvrant des sujets aussi divers que les réseaux embarqués, l'éclairage automobile, l'autoradio et l'audio, la puissance automobile et le radar.
L'équipe de développement radar 77 GHz basée à Toulouse supervise le développement du Transceiver IC qui intervient dans des applications d'aujourd’hui (aide au stationnement, contrôle adaptatif de la vitesse, système anti-collision…) et de demain (véhicule autonome).
Nous recherchons un étudiant en dernière année d'ingénieur pour un stage de 6 mois afin de travailler en collaboration avec l'équipe de conception de circuits intégrés à ondes millimétriques.
Dans un récepteur radar, le mélangeur est utilisé pour convertir le signal RF reçu à haute fréquences (77 GHz) en un signal à plus basse fréquences (quelques MHz).
Les mélangeurs passifs, présentent des avantages certains en termes de bruit, de linéarité et de consommation mais leur atténuation reste toutefois une limitation.
Dans le cadre d’une collaboration avec le laboratoire IMS de Bordeaux, NXP étudie pour la future génération de radar un nouveau type de mélangeurs passifs, dits «charge-pump», permettant de réaliser aussi du gain en tension.
Leurs intégrations pourraient permettre de contourner un compromis habituel de la chaîne de réception entre performances en bruit et en linéarité.
Le/La stagiaire aura pour mission d’étudier l’intégration de ce type de circuits charge-pump dans un récepteur radar dédié aux applications automobiles afin de déterminer leur potentiel intérêt.

The 77 GHz Radar Development Team based in Toulouse is responsible for the development of the radar transceiver IC used in current applications such as parking assistance, adaptive cruise control, and collision avoidance systems, as well as future applications including autonomous vehicles.
We are looking for a final-year engineering student for a 6-month internship to work closely with our millimeter-wave integrated circuit design team.
In a radar receiver, the mixer is used to downconvert the received high-frequency RF signal (77 GHz) into a lower-frequency signal (a few MHz).
Passive mixers offer significant advantages in terms of noise performance, linearity, and power consumption. However, their conversion loss remains a
limitation.
As part of a collaboration with the IMS Laboratory in Bordeaux, NXP is investigating a new type of passive mixer, known as a charge-pump mixer, for future radar generations.
These mixers are capable of providing voltage gain while maintaining the benefits of passive architectures.
Their integration could help overcome the traditional trade-off between noise performance and linearity in radar receiver chains.
The intern will be responsible for studying the integration of charge-pump circuits into an automotive radar receiver in order to evaluate their potential benefits and performance impact.
