Job Description:

  • Design and support the execution of horizontal well new completions in Unconventional oil and gas assets
  • • Drive cycle time and cost improvements through KPI tracking and partnering with field operations
  • • Responsible for the design, planning, and management of completion and well intervention operations, with the full integration of the CWI Operations team and relevant asset teams.
  • • Preparation of detailed cost and time estimates, tracking of relevant metrics during job execution, after action reviews (AAR) documentation, well handover to production, and developing subsequent improvement plans.
  • • Partner with UPU asset team and field personnel to enhance E2E well operations in line with basin objectives
  • • Act as contract holder for new completion tier 3 contracts and effectively implement post award contract management (PACM) strategies
  • • HSSE – Integrate HSSE in the design, programming, and execution of well work on completion and well intervention operations. Actively promote HSSE and Sustainable Development (SD) in all activities and ensure compliance with business principles.
  • • Mentor junior staff in all aspects of completion engineering design and operations, and in interaction with other asset teams.
  • • Support and foster relationships with other asset teams including subsurface, production, facilities, and construction. Support engagements with JV partners where applicable and the development and analysis of competitive benchmarking to drive operational excellence.
  • • Lead the technical and HSSE management of relevant service provider contracts and support the contracting and procurement strategy. Collaborate with contractors regarding performance, future plans, variances, etc. as needed.
  • • Actively drive the identification, development, and implementation of new technologies and the opportunities to optimize field operations.

  • • Include risk management in all aspects of the work delivered through the well delivery process. This includes planning and leading workshops such as war-gaming, contingency planning, HAZIDs and HAZOPs and Exercise-On-Paper exercises e.g. CWOP, Well Control Drills etc..
  • • Verify that all Contracts and Contractors implement agreed upon joint safety plans. Lead and attend site safety audits.
  • • Follow up and where necessary lead investigations into HSE incidents or accidents.

  • • Lead interface with vendors and service companies to develop non-routine operational procedures and practices. Work internally to support interfaces with other departments.
  • • Safeguard the Company’s assets and interests (e.g. platform, wells, materials and equipment).
  • • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements, environmental and safety case commitments.
  • • Help coach and supervise if required other engineers, contractors and service personnel to deliver the highest quality work and thus flawless execution and technical integrity of the wells.
  • • Manage interfaces with stakeholders including C&P, Logistics, Asset and Development Teams, Rig and Service Contractors as well as the Regulatory body.
  • Engineering, Operations Readiness and Operations Management
  • • Project Design/Execution: Deliver world-class design/execution performance by embedding Revitalized Deliver-the-Limit (rDTL) and Better to Best methodology as the way of working and implementing full use of the Global Well Delivery Process (GWDP). Responsible for the design, planning, and management of completion and well intervention operations, with the full integration of the CWI Operations team and relevant asset teams. Preparation of detailed cost and time estimates, tracking of relevant metrics during job execution, after action reviews (AAR) documentation, well handover to production, and developing subsequent improvement plans.
  • • Mentor junior staff in all aspects of completion engineering design and operations, and in interaction with other asset teams.

  • • Develop annual personal performance review/management documents including performance contracts, individual development plans (IDPs) and goals and performance appraisals (GPAs).
  • • Actively participate in the discussion for the drilling sequence and integrated planning.
  • • Own and maintain well engineering opportunity funnels and risk registers.
  • • Own and maintain the cost and schedule for the project, and progress improvement opportunities
  • • Ensure the well designs can meet the project functional requirements
  • • Ensure robust supporting engineering studies are in place for Assurance, either through self-work or by engaging specialist third party contractors and/or internal experience through entities such as the Theme Offices.
  • • Ensure the well programs can be executed safely and in accordance with agreed objectives, statutory regulations and company policies.
  • • Ensure programs carry fit-for-purpose and job-specific risk assessments which can be implemented in the field.
  • • Manage the Contractor to deliver the scope of work aligned with the outcome-based work methodologies and contracts. Provide coaching and support to the Operations Team on how to manage outcome-based work.
  • • Ensure plans are in place that allow operational flexibility in order to meet the project and well objectives.
  • • Provide guidance and expert judgment to the Ops Team and the site Supervisors on all matters related to the operations of a rig and the specific program.
  • • Maintain and control the availability and quality of the services and equipment provided under the Contracts.
  • • Tracking of progress against schedule, including identification and follow-up with deliverable and disciplines not under direct well engineering control.
  • • Ensure the After-Action Review and Lessons Learned are captured and shared with other assets.
  • • Ensure that continuous improvement activities are carried out through the offshore performance pushers and influencing contractors.
  • Requirements
  • • Degree/Diploma in Technical/Engineering discipline. A seasoned completion and well interventions professional with extensive hand-on CWI operations.
  • • Working successfully in Argentina requires both excellent technical skills and soft skills to build effective relations with your key stakeholders. Building personal relations in a South American setting is critical for success.
  • • Experience in stimulating multi-well pad operations, coil tubing, E-line, artificial lift & snubbing operations is desirable.
  • • RDI/II Certification/ Diploma Required or in progress
  • • Language: Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.

  • • Detailed knowledge of Unconventional completion operations including surface and subsurface SIMOPs
