Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer – Level 5 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA.

*Please be aware that this position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance at the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Work scope covers a range of Systems Engineering disciplines and products including requirements & verification, interfaces, architecture, DOORS administration, and design
-Support development of verification planning/products, test requirements, and other key products
-Assist preparation and execution of milestones
-Role entails collaboration with Space Vehicle Systems Engineering and Ground SEIT as well as engagement with multiple working groups and control boards
-Specifics of responsibilities can be tailored based on the skillset and specific experience of the selected candidate

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12+ years of engineering experience OR

-Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 10+ years of engineering experience OR

-PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8+ years of engineering experience

-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have the willingness and ability to obtain and maintain active SCI access prior to start date. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate’s maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Systems engineering fundamentals
-Prior spacecraft project experience

-DOORS, CAMEO, and MBSE knowledge & proficiency

-Advanced user in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

-Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years along with active SCI access at time of application and prior to start date

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
