Staff System Applications Engineer

About the Role

Join ADI’s Consumer Audio team working with leading OEMs to deliver next-generation audio playback systems.

As a Staff System Applications Engineer, you will serve as a system-level technical expert and customer-facing authority, driving the successful integration of ADI solutions in speaker and audio amplifier signal chains, with a focus on smart amplifiers and power-aware system optimization for high-volume consumer products.

This role spans signal processing, hardware, power, and system optimization—translating complex customer requirements into high-performance, production-ready playback designs. You will combine deep domain expertise with the ability to operate across system boundaries, while influencing product direction through direct customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted technical partner to key customers

  • Define and support system architectures across audio signal chain, speaker path, and power integration

  • Drive system performance optimization, including tuning and algorithm integration

  • Deliver reference designs, validation strategies, and debug support

  • Solve complex system-level challenges across hardware, firmware, and algorithms

  • Influence product direction and roadmap through customer insights

  • Support customer bring-up, validation, and production ramp

Must Have Skills

  • Strong system-level debugging and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in consumer audio systems or related mixed-signal / embedded platforms

  • Proven success in a customer-facing engineering role

  • Working knowledge of audio or system performance fundamentals

  • Experience in one or more areas:

  • Signal processing systems

  • Analog/mixed-signal hardware

  • Acoustics or electro-acoustic systems

  • Power systems (including DC/DC)

  • Embedded or firmware-based systems

  • Ability to operate effectively across multiple technical domains with a system mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with audio enhancement, tuning, or speaker protection algorithms

  • Exposure to acoustic or electro-acoustic systems

  • Familiarity with audio DSP concepts

  • Mechanical design and prototyping experience

  • Programming or scripting skills

  • Experience supporting high-volume consumer products

  • PCB design experience

  • Language skills: Korean

What Sets You Apart

  • You bring depth in one technical area and curiosity across others

  • You think in terms of systems, not silos

  • You thrive in customer-facing, high-impact environments

  • You balance technical rigor with practical execution
