Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience as an ML/AI engineer working with AI-related tools, frameworks, and platforms and building AI-powered user-visible features.
  • Experience with data analysis.
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Experience working with Ads Quality.
  • Experience building AI-powered user-visible features.

In this role, you will co-develop innovative ads experiences by translating and driving product concepts into ML tasks as part of the core AI-mode model.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Build deep intuition for the AIM and the Ads product. Guide the product direction as well as formulate a robust technical strategy and road map. Explore emerging technologies and propose techniques.
  • Work with cross-functional teams across Ads, Search, Deep Mind, and Google Research to align the end to end system and technical approaches towards the overall mission and product.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, the AI-Mode product road map, and the evolving technical landscape.
  • Drive fast-paced iterative execution while optimizing for both learning and impact.
  • Formulate designs that help achieve desirable trade-offs across cost, latency, quality, etc.
