This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Software Engineer based in India.

This is a senior technical leadership role focused on building scalable, reliable, and high-quality software systems in a cloud-native SaaS environment. You will contribute across the full application lifecycle, from architecture and design through development, deployment, monitoring, and production support. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, code and design reviews, mentoring, and engineering standards. You will work across backend and frontend technologies, with a strong emphasis on C#, modern JavaScript frameworks, APIs, databases, testing, and cloud infrastructure. You will also help drive an API-first approach and improve system performance, observability, and resilience. The position offers the opportunity to influence strategic product decisions while collaborating closely with engineering, product, design, and other cross-functional teams.

Accountabilities

• Lead software design and code reviews, establish development standards, and contribute to technical decisions that support strategic product goals.
• Participate throughout the application lifecycle, including architecture, coding, debugging, testing, deployment, maintenance, and production support.
• Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable software using C#, JavaScript/TypeScript technologies, modern frontend frameworks, REST APIs, and cloud-native practices.
• Develop and maintain full-stack application components, including UI, application services, data layers, and reusable libraries.
• Champion an API-first approach, ensuring integrations are secure, scalable, extensible, and performant.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, optimize system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements across applications and infrastructure.
• Design and maintain unit, integration, and UI automation testing strategies to improve product quality and test coverage.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases and caching mechanisms, including data structure design, optimization, and performance improvements.
• Build and deploy applications using Kubernetes and support cloud-native infrastructure and observability practices, including OpenTelemetry.
• Monitor system health and participate in on-call rotations, responding to incidents and resolving critical production issues with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, system administrators, product teams, customers, and vendors to identify requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance and training, and support the professional development of the wider engineering team.
• Improve development tools, code quality, test coverage, and engineering processes while maintaining clear technical documentation and proactive communication.
