Job Description

As a Staff Software Engineer I, you will be a key technical leader, guiding software initiatives with significant AI components. Your role involves developing strategic AI implementation roadmaps, focusing on core software engineering and innovative AI integration. You will apply modern software development practices across the end-to-end software development life cycle, utilizing your deep technical expertise to design enterprise-grade architectures and coordinate multi-team efforts.

About The Role:

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for

  • You'll optimize cloud resource costs and develop a deep understanding of AI model evaluation and selection. Your ability to mentor engineering teams and evaluate AI suitability ensures alignment with business objectives.
  • You will drive technical direction and innovation while addressing performance and scale challenges, including AI model drift.
  • As part of your role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including senior stakeholders, to deliver projects, specify development activities, and manage milestones and timelines.
  • Your communication skills will be key in articulating the role of Software Development Engineering and its value to the business.
  • Influences multiple cross-functional project teams to execute and adopt a point of view for ideas and initiatives.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Trains and mentors colleagues, including Sr. Software Engineers.
  • Collaborates with senior stakeholders to deliver projects and manage milestones.
  • Communicates the value of Software Development Engineering to the business.
  • Applies modern software development practices across the end-to-end software development life cycle.
  • Designs enterprise-grade architectures and coordinates multi-team efforts; Optimizes cloud resource costs and develops deep understanding of AI models.
  • Drives technical direction and innovation while addressing performance and scale challenges
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including senior stakeholders, to deliver projects, specify development activities, and manage milestones and timelines.
  • Articulates the role of Software Development Engineering and its value to the business.
  • Leads significant projects, programs and business initiatives, demonstrating creativity and ingenuity.
  • Determines work priorities based on general direction from managers.
  • Provides specialist advice to middle and senior management to resolve complex issues related to emerging technologies.
  • May informally lead the daily work of assigned work group / team.
  • Recommends modifications to the daily operations of the assigned work group / team.
  • Models curiosity and displays passion to constantly learn new things in rapidly evolving technology landscape.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and growth mindset when facing technological changes.

About You:​

You are a fit for the position of Staff Software Engineer if your background includes:​

  • 10+ Years of software engineering experience, including work with both co-located and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft C++ (MFC, COM, Win32) with solid object-oriented design and development skills. Sound grasp of object-oriented programming principles, including SOLID, DRY, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD), as well as core database design fundamentals.
  • Experience with agentic coding tools and AI-native software engineering workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with .NET, C#, ASP.NET, and REST APIs.
  • Solid working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (RDBMS).
  • Practical experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices and tools such as GitHub workflows. Comfortable with unit testing and test automation disciplines.
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (EC2, S3, ALB, Auto Scaling, RDS, Lambda, SQS). Familiarity with containers (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills across formats—in-person, phone, email, chat, whiteboarding, and other collaboration platforms—with the ability to clearly explain, inform, and coordinate.
  • Willingness to learn and support our legacy codebase during the transition to our next-generation platform.
