Remitly Business is building a two-sided platform that helps businesses and individuals in emerging markets move money across borders. On the send side, we let businesses pay vendors, suppliers, and contractors abroad. On the receive side, we let businesses and sellers get paid in USD, hold balances in stable currency, and withdraw across Remitly's 170+ country disbursement network.
As a Staff Software Engineer on Remitly Business, you will set the technical direction for the product engineering that powers this marketplace. You'll lead the architecture of our Go services, APIs, and durable money-movement workflows on Temporal — and, as a well-rounded product engineer, you'll drive the frontend architecture decisions that shape our React/TypeScript applications, even though backend is your home base. This is hands-on technical leadership, not an architecture-only role: you'll code, lead large initiatives from design through launch, raise the bar through design reviews and mentorship, and use AI coding agents as a genuine force multiplier — for yourself and, by setting standards, for the whole team. You will work in a hybrid capacity from our Seattle office.
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $208,000-$260,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan. Under the Company's current hybrid-work expectations, employees in this position work onsite Tuesday through Thursday each week.
