Discover Impactful Work:

Join our innovative Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) R&D Bioinformatics team, where you'll contribute to developing fully automated, sample-to-report NGS workflows for both clinical and research applications, with a focus on oncology. Working with cross-functional teams of algorithm developers, software engineers, molecular biologists, and product managers, you will help advance genomic analysis and precision medicine. This role provides opportunities to advance genomic research while contributing to solutions that improve patient outcomes worldwide.

Location

This is a fully onsite role based in Pleasanton, CA. Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

A Day in the Life:

  • Drive development and release of bioinformatics software and assays for oncology diagnostics
  • Ensure high-quality bioinformatics operations, including design and implantation of bioinformatic pipelines
  • Develop and implement automation tools, validate algorithms, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards and quality requirements.
  • Lead projects from initiation through successful completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into software requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows, tools, and processes
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and high-quality documentation in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 6+ years or PhD with 4+ years experience

Experience

  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java
  • Expertise in Linux/Unix environments and relational databases
  • Experience with testing and documentation in regulated environments
  • Demonstrated project coordination and cross-functional team collaboration
  • Experience with variant calling, sequence alignment, and functional annotation
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and statistical modeling is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of software development best practices and version control systems
  • Understanding of clinical and regulatory requirements for diagnostic applications
  • Detail-oriented with ability to adapt to team standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $129,400.00–$175,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
