
Position Definition:
This position supports a collaborative Multiple Principal Investigator (MPI) lab dedicated to improving women’s health and sleep, especially among Veterans. This lab is based at the Northern California Institute for Research and Education (NCIRE), San Francisco VA Health Care System, and the University of California, San Francisco. The MPIs, are clinical psychologists with federally-funded lines of research intended to fill high-impact clinical gaps. Research projects may include clinical trials, survey studies, epidemiological analysis, qualitative interviews and focus groups, and psychometric development. In addition to active research projects, another goal of our program is to build sustainable infrastructure to support women’s health research, including providing mentorship and community for women’s health research staff, trainees, clinicians, and investigators. The incumbent will serve as the Study Coordinator and will provide day-to-day study coordination activities for several research studies. These tasks will be done under the direction of the MPIs and in accordance with NCIRE policies.

Working Conditions/Environment:
The work environment is a psychological research laboratory. It may include minor annoyances such as noise, temperature variations, etc. The incumbent may be required to sustain standing and seated postures and to use a computer keyboard and display monitor for prolonged periods. Work may be completed remotely in a suitable environment (e.g., adequate privacy for phone calls), with schedule and expectations for remote work to be detailed in written Telecommuting Agreement.
VA Onboarding Requirements:
NCIRE is an affiliate organization of the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS), which requires all candidates to complete SFVA onboarding in addition to NCIRE's onboarding process. The SFVA is a federal agency that requires a federal background check, occupational health clearance, vaccines and immunizations, and drug testing for certain positions. Drug testing may include screening for marijuana which remains an illegal substance according to federal law. The failure to pass required drug testing will disqualify candidates from employment.
The base wage range for this position is $25.24 - $40.60 per hour. The wage actually offered to a successful candidate will take into account various relevant and non-discriminatory business factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, and education, as well as internal equity considerations. A successful candidate may also be eligible to earn additional compensation including bonuses.
